Positive Work Environment

Positive Work Environment Definition

​A positive work environment is an encouraging place to work. The main difference in a positive work environment vs. a negative one is that there is trust, teamwork, and accountability. Employees don’t have any ill intentions towards one another and encourage each other to do their best work. Effective communication is used and allows for a great use of teamwork to complete tasks. 

​Positive Work Environment in Leadership

​I have worked in many negative work environments and only recently had the pleasure of working in a more positive one. By encouraging a more positive place to work, employees are more motivated to do the best they can. By putting more of a focus on working as a team and encouraging one another, it creates an environment where employees are more autonomous, happy, and want good things for one another. In turn, this helps the overall performance of the team.

​Positive Work Environment Artifact

​The assignment I chose as an artifact for this concept was one that I did at the beginning of 2023. This course encouraged us to do research on OGL topics that piqued our interest. As I mentioned before, after just recently experiencing a positive work environment, I was interested in taking a deeper dive into the effects of working in a positive environment. The research I did brings a lot of statistics to the importance of having a work environment. Not only are employees happier to go to work, they tend to stick around way longer and have better retention.
